IS YOUR NETWORK OR APPLICATION RIGHT NOW?
CoreSec Vulnerability Scan and Assessment Service provides a quick glance of the security posture of your systems and applications. Due to the changing nature of the security landscape and your business requirements, it is recommended that such assessments are conducted frequently or on ongoing basis (especially in between Penetration Tests) to continuously monitor existing threats.
Our experts scan your systems and applications for vulnerabilities, which are potentially susceptible to exploitation, on a recurring basis.
What is a Vulnerability Assessment?
As documented by SANS, "Vulnerabilities are the gateways by which threats are manifested". In other words, a system compromise can accur through a weakness found in a system. A vulnerability assessment is a search for these weaknesses / exposures in order to apply a patch or fix to prevent a compromise.
In a post-scan comprehensive report we recommend ways to counteract these conditions and include:
Creating and abiding by baseline security standards, including staff education;
Installing vendor patches;
Regular, ongoing vulnerability scanning;
Subscribing to and abiding by security advisories;
Hardening perimeter defences, and ACL’s;
Implementing intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS / IPS);
Reviewing or implmenting endpoint security such as: firewall policies, anti-virus, anti-malware and anti-spam software.
To have a successful vulnerability management (VM) program, you need a way to efficiently acquire vulnerability data, options to effectively distribute that data, and integrations with other parts of the business.
